Sun, surf and seersucker — staying casual in Southern California
Seeking sun and inspiration, our editors traveled to the shores of Southern California. From beaches to brunch spots to casual Brooks Brothers looks, here’s a primer for the perfect warm-weather weekend getaway.
Brunch is a cult-like obsession in Los Angeles just as it is in New York. There’s a sea of brunch options in the L.A. area; a few of our favorites include Sqirl (don’t leave without trying the ricotta toast), Gjelina (where it’s hard not to order the whole menu) and Blu Jam Café (for eclectic fare that doesn’t break the bank).
A trip to SoCal isn’t complete without a visit to Venice Beach, a quintessential destination for tourists and locals alike. For a beach that’s a bit more Instagram-worthy, however, head to El Matador State Beach in Malibu to explore its sea caves and striking rock outcroppings.
